Oh Lex had missed his pool table. It was one of the finest tables ever created and upholstered in royal purple velvet. The balls were a pro set and were shined to perfection, with a cue ball polished so white it looked flawless. It was one of Lex's most prized possessions, behind his cars of course, and one of the few things he'd added to the castle to make it his own.
And it was made even better with a handsome Russian bent over it. Lex stood to the side, leaning on his own personal stick, as he watched Anatoly's set up with one eye, and his ass with the other. "The cue ball is going to go right if you shoot like that." He said with a smirk in his voice. A master Anatoly may be at chess, he was still having trouble mastering the game of billards.

"The damned ball is going to go where it pleases no matter what I do, you know."

Date: Oct. 4th, 2009 02:37 am (UTC)Clark drove the Kent truck over to the mansion and lifted the large basket of red roses out of the passenger seat as he got out. It seemed like only yesterday he'd delivered a basket of white tulips so Lex could woo Victoria and he swallowed down any feelings that surfaced at the memory. It wouldn't help when he met the new object of his older friend's affections.
He walked into the mansion with a nod to the security guard, who informed him that Lex was in his office and that he should go right up. Clark knew the way by heart and a small smile came over him face as hoped his friend was alone and maybe they could play a game of pool or two before he had to return home and do chores.
The quick knock on the door and Clark was pushing his way into the library. "Hey Lex, I brought your flo..." His jaw dropped as he spotted his friend pinned to the pool table in a very passionate embrace. With a man. That was...unexpected and oddly disappointing.

Lex arched his neck farther back so he was looking at a startled Clark Kent staring at him and Anatoly with the roses Lex had ordered, upside down. "Clark!" He exclaimed in surprised, yet not wanting to move. He almost groaned. Why was being interrupted becoming a trend today? And by the worst people possible?

Anatoly...these are for you." With a small bow of his head, he presented the rose to the Russian, for the moment pretending Clark wasn't still staring.

Date: Oct. 8th, 2009 03:50 am (UTC)After another soft, loving kiss, Lex turned to Clark. He gave his young friend a soothing smile. "Of course you can Clark." The smile faltered with surprise when his arm was grabbed and he was pulled out into the hallway.
Once the door was closed behind them, leaving Anatoly alone in the study, Lex dug in his heels and made Clark stop. "Okay Clark, we're in private as I assume that's what you were going for. I realize this situation stinks of Desiree, but I promise, it's not. I...can't explain so I just ask you to trust me." If Clark couldn't see the love in Lex's eyes, he had to be blind.

He couldn't exactly blame Clark for being suspicious about him, if that was his motive for pulling him away, but he couldn't help feeling possessive, either. Clark'd had his chance and lost. He wasn't about to give way to him now.
All things considered, it was best if he let Lex handle the situation, and so he let them go without a murmur.

Date: Oct. 13th, 2009 01:25 am (UTC)He thought that Lex would only ever look at him that way. And that's what hurt. He wanted Lex to be this happy...but he wanted to be the one to make him that way.
"I...I trust you Lex." And wasn't that a loaded statement. But at the moment, he didn't have a choice. He knew that. "But come on Lex...who is this guy? He showed up faster then Desiree. You have to see why I'm worried." And that didn't mean he wasn't going to express his concern.

Date: Oct. 13th, 2009 02:37 am (UTC)"Clark, if you trust me..." He said simply, putting his hands on Clark's shoulders for emphasis, "Then trust me when I tell you that you wouldn't believe me if I told you. Like alot that happens in this town. And trust me when I say that I've known Anatoly for longer then you think and he means everything to me." He couldn't help the stupid grin on his face. "Everything. And I know he isn't using me because he faced down my father in the nude this morning and you and I both know that means love. So, I appreciate your concern Clark, more then you know, but please...trust me." The last two words were said with the same hushed whisper in which the words 'I love you' were usually uttered and perhaps it would be the closet Clark and Lex would ever get to them.
But instead, Lex kissed Clark's cheek, then turned to walk back to Anatoly in the library, leaving a wide eyed Clark behind him.
