After a day of drinking and making unsuccessful advances on a reluctant and tied up Lex, Clark finally has an idea: He wants to get married. And of course, he has the perfect bait to get Lex to agree: his secrets.

Clark hopped onto Lex's lap. "Don't be too mad at me," he said with a grin. "I mean, hey, you were complaining about all the attention I was not giving you, anyway. Let's just say we're making up for lost time." He gave poor tied upLex a wink.

Fighting the urge to close his eyes with a strangled sigh, Lex tugged at the ropes holding him to the chair. "I was hoping you would be more yourself Clark." He repeated, or so he felt for the thousandth time. At least the annoyance was helping him not think about how parts of really didn't mind this attention. The parts that were ignoring how very wrong this all was.

"Admit it," he replied, "you kind of like this." He tilted his head. "If I were," he tilted his head, "you know wearing the flannel and blushing up a storm." He scrunched his nose in annoyance. So boring. He liked being bad much better. Or at the very least, naughty.

Sighing again, Lex closed his eyes. His voice was dark as he spoke the rough truth. "Yes, Clark. I do like it. I like you as a farm boy or a bad boy. Is that what you wanted to hear?" But he didn't want it either but he felt that it was against his best interest to mention it.

"Don't tell me what I want to hear," he replied, rolling his eyes. "Be honest."

Opening his eyes, Lex looked him in the eyes, clearly not happy but oddly open for him. "I'm telling you the truth Clark. I like you very much, no matter what your doing. But I can't say I want you right now either. It's all a little rushed." He tugged at the ropes pointedly.

"You know," he began, "all you had to do was ask." He shrugged. "Tried something. You'd be surprised what a farm boy might let you do." But that was neither here nor there. "I have a very awful idea," Clark said quickly to deflect. "One that may cause a little drama, but..." He smirked. "Could be just the tiniest bit beneficial."

"Yes Clark, I'm sure your father would have loved to call the cops on me for corrupting a minor." Lex pointed out sardonically. "Not to mention Kansas isn't the queer friendliest state in the union." Then he gave Clark a long look, eyebrows raising. He knew it was a bad idea but he asked anyway, "And what exactly would that idea be?"

Clark shook his head. "I was over at your house late at night more times than I can remember," he replied, "don't tell me the greatLex Luthor was afraid of a farmer?" Clark smirked. He took a deep breath and shifted slightly, which may or may not have seemed like a grind against a certain part of someone's anatomy, and said, "Well, I think I might know a way for us to have some fun," he paused, "in all those ways you dreamed of, and for me to tell you all of my dark little secrets." Dark was such a strong word, and, because this was Clark, wasn't quite dark so much as extraordinary. "If you're up for it."

"When it means jail time? You'd be surprised. Or do you forget that my well being was tied into the well being of your town?" The grind was noticed andLex gritted his teeth, despite his anatomy fighting to respond accordingly. He was prepared to dismiss Clark's idea...but the tease of secrets was a bit too much for him to pass up. "That really depends on what it is Clark." He replied neutrally, not agreeing or disagreeing yet.

"Well," Clark began, amused, "these are family secrets, you know. Not just mine." He quirked a brow. "It's a sacred thing to reveal these secrets." His face grew soft, if only for just a moment, and then he chuckled softly. "So, you'd have to be family to know." He wondered ifLex could put two and two together.

Family. Lex took a moment but he got it. And he couldn't help a small glare at Clark's audacity, though he really shouldn't have been surprised. "Family Clark? Are you suggesting what I think you are?" He was afraid he got the message but he wanted to hear it come out of Clark's mouth. He could barely believe it after all, especially the months of refusing to acknowledge his existence on the island.

"What do you think I'm suggesting?" He quirked a brow. "If it's for you to adopt me, just so I can call you, Daddy, you've got the wrong idea, buddy." Clark, ever evasive, kind of liked to keepLex on his toes, especially if it frustrated him to no end without any direct answers.

At the daddy comment, Lex flinched slightly, tugging at his ropes again to distract himself from the revulsion. "Clark. Please. For once, just speak plain." Clark was right. The lack of direct answers was drivingLex crazy, more so then the entire situation in general. More so then the suggestion he knew Clark was hinting at. "Please...do not tell me your thinking about marriage."

Clark laughed. "It's not like you could do worse," he replied, tilting his head. "I think I'm probably better than your last few choices."

The last few choices didn't consider the island, but Lex wasn't about to mention that. With Clark acting the way he was...he didn't want Anatoly involved. For many reasons. "True." He paused before giving him a slightly annoyed look. "So...what are your terms?" Thinking about it as a negotiation was much easier then a marriage contract.

"Terms?" Clark's brow furrowed.

Lex rolled his eyes. "I want your secrets. I won't deny that. What do you want from me, if we do this?"

"What do I want from you?" Clark tilted his head like this was actually a hard question, which it was because, in all honest, there was very little that Clark wanted fromLex. "I guess..." His brows raised. "I guess I don't want to worry about what's going to happen when you find out." Like that Lex would want to cut him open just to see if he could bleed in some weird mad scientist kind of way.

Unable to help himself, Lex closed his eyes, as if to hide from Clark's reaction. "Clark...you know you have nothing to fear from me right?" He hesitated...before adding, "If this is what it will take to have you be comfortable with me...alright Clark. I'll do it." A part of his heart broke, painfully, butLex ignored it as he mumbled in Russian, "Tolya, please forgive me."

"Okay then," Clark replied with a grin and gave Lex a wink. "This is gonna be a night you won't forget."

Lex sighed heavily. "Of that, I have no doubt." He felt...oddly defeated about the whole thing. He was getting what he'd wanted for so long, and really, for nothing. And yet, he felt like he was ripping his heart out at the root. What was wrong with him?
