For Saffron
He'd done it.
Only a few hours before, Lex had walked out on the best thing he'd ever found in his life. But he didn't have a choice. If the previous week had shown him anything, it was how unstable he was and how close his darkness was to the surface. He couldn't deny it anymore. And seeing his future...It was for the best. Anatoly would never understand, but Lex would rather die then hurt him again. And he would, it was gurantee. He was a Luthor afterall.
He had spent a good portion of those hours since dawn sitting in the kitchen staring into a cup of coffee. No one had bothered him, but he was projecting his Luthor shell to the max. The cold, ruthless shell that threatened the lose of a finger for whoever dared come near. But soon, just the proximity of people got on his nerves and he escaped the compound to roam the beach.
It was another hour or two, Lex couldn't tell, before he found himself outside Helen's hut, his bag over his shoulder and computer case in hand. He frowned slightly...but he didn't stop himself when he gave into the urge to knock.

He was tired and his body showed it. The last two weeks had been draining enough and he felt like he hadn't slept in ages. "I'm sorry to bother you...I just wasn't sure who else to go to."
He paused, licked his lips, before clarifying, "I left Anatoly." Amazingly enough, his voice didn't break, but it was close.

He wanted to say there wasn't much to tell, but they both knew that was a lie. So he just didn't say anything for the moment, just standing there with his hands in pockets, looking kind of lost since he wasn't really sure how to start.

He looked so helpless, standing there in her hut and not saying a word, that Saffron felt terrible for him. She went and stood before him, wishing there was something she could do and knowing Lex had to work things out for himself. "You can stay here as long as you need," she assured him, lifting one hand to gently cup his cheek.

He started slightly as her offer, starting to shake his head. "That's not why I came here...but thank you. I...I'd like that." He wasn't sure why he'd come here, but he couldn't refuse the offer. After a year of companionship, he didn't think he could take being alone.
He could hear his father in his head in his lamenting of his pathetic son. Lex told it to fuck off, with the full force of his broken heart.
